The Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE) is expanding its management team with the addition of Sherri Johns as Director of Marketing, Training and Events. She was previously head judge for multiple Cup of Excellence competitions and managed Whole Cup Consulting and numerous ‘Ultimate Barista Challenge’ programmes.
In her new role she will co-ordinate the many international conferences and training courses that ACE has planned for the future. She will also lend her skill to marketing efforts in support of membership development.
“Sherri has years of experience in diverse geographical regions setting up successful coffee events, co-ordinating marketing and training and as a contributing writer to food and coffee publications,” said Susie Spindler, ACE’s Executive Director.
“Her expertise will be extremely valuable as ACE focuses on training programmes, certification of cuppers and expansion of its international membership.”
“She has a very long history in the specialty coffee industry and along with her head judge experience for many of the Cup of Excellence competitions has trained many award winning baristas and consulted on hundreds of successful retail openings.
“Her knowledge of the marketplace, top quality and the reality that farmers face gives her a unique perspective.”
ACE owns and manages the Cup of Excellence programme. In 2012 the Cup of Excellence will be hosted in Brazil, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Mexico, Rwanda, Burundi and Colombia.
