With four seats available for election the Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE) has chosen Flori Marin, Geoff Watts, Mark Dundon and Aida Batlle to serve on its Board of Directors.
Flori Marin was re-elected as the Secretary-Treasurer. She brings a wealth of experience to the ACE Board having worked in the specialty coffee business for the last 20 years.
Geoff Watts has spent the last 17 years as the chief buyer for Intelligentsia, a well-known specialty roaster/retailer in the US.
Mark Dundon owns a small roasting company in Melbourne, Australia, Seven Seeds. Having been in the coffee industry for 13 years, his focus is on education, support for farmers and quality.
Aida Batlle, a fifth generation coffee farmer, became well-known in the industry when, at the first El Salvador Cup of Excellence in 2003, she won first place.
The four will join international ACE Board members Kentaro Maruyama of Maruyama Coffee and Yoshi Kato of Bontain Coffee, both in Japan, Jason Long of Café Imports in the US, Andreas Hertzberg of Solberg & Hansen in Norway and Bernd Braune of Supremo Kaffeerösterei in Germany.
