Colombia produced a total of 14.2 million bags of coffee between January and December 2016. In December 2016, production reached 1.3 million bags. This represented a 9 per cent decrease compared to December 2015’s 1.4 million bags.
So far this coffee year (October-December 2017), production has registered a 5 per cent increase, reaching nearly 4.4 million bags. Between January and December 2016, Colombian coffee exports reached 12.9 million bags. This was a 1 per cent increase compared to the 12.7 million bags registered during 2015.
During December 2016, coffee exports experienced a 23 per cent increase, reaching 1.5 million bags. So far this coffee year, exports have reached a level of 4 million bags. This represents a 15.8 per cent increase compared to the 3.5 million bags sold in international market in the same period a year earlier.
