COCOA FARMER ORGANIZATIONS SETTLE THEIR DIFFERENCES

The World Cocoa Farmers Organization and the World Cocoa Producers Organization have agreed to settle their differences and form a single organization representing cocoa farmers.

An agreement to that effect was reached at the World Cocoa Conference in Berlin in April.

The unification agreement signed by the organizations commits them to working towards a common agenda. It was signed on 23 April 2018.

The merged organization will work towards common goals of “representing, protecting and building the wellbeing of cocoa farmers across the value chain”.

The organizations said the agreement “represents an important step in unifying the cocoa value chain.”
