CHOCOLATE COMPANY’S COO TO RETIRE AFTER 35 YEARS



After working at Barry Callebaut for 35 years, 10 years as Chief Operations Officer and member of the Executive Committee, Dirk Poelman has decided to retire.

Mr Poelman completed his studies as industrial engineer in 1984 and started work as an engineering manager with Callebaut, which later merged with Cacao Barry. Over the course of his career, Mr Poelman worked in various managerial positions and countries before he was appointed to the Executive Committee in 2009, responsible for the group’s global operations and supply chain organization (OSCA).

The Board of Directors at Barry Callebaut has appointed Olivier Delaunay, currently Vice President OSCO Europe, Middle East, Africa as Mr Poelman’s successor and a member of the Executive Committee, effective 1 September 2019.

Mr Poelman will remain a member of the board until the end of 2019.
